1: GETTING STARTED

Once you have downloaded the SCAP app, follow these simple steps to become a SCAPper! Discover the fun in our "Scan In, Scan Out" principle, and bring the fun back into grocery shopping! Before you start using the SCAP app, be sure you have chosen the correct language for the product database via the general Settings. You can do this at any time, but the products you have created yourself and your shopping lists will disappear once you change to a different product database.

Upon opening the app, you will see a button ”Self Scan Shopping". That is SCAPs great killer app! However, it is very new, and most likely, we haven't set up an agreement with your store yet. Keep following us, though, to be able to cut the queue and join the SCAP generation!

2: CREATE A SHOPPING LIST

Once you have downloaded the SCAP app, follow these simple steps to become a SCAPper! Discover the fun in our "Scan In, Scan Out" principle, and bring the fun back into grocery shopping! Before you start using the SCAP app, be sure you have chosen the correct language for the product database via the general Settings. You can do this at any time, but the products you have created yourself and your shopping lists will disappear once you change to a different product database.

Name your list. Be creative. "Saturday shopping", "Camping", "Daily groceries", the choice is yours!

3: ADD PRODUCTS

Start by adding a product "the old fashion way". Open the shopping list by touching the list name. Start by searching: Press the plus sign, and enter whatever you need in the search field. If the item you want shows up below, check it, and voila, it is in your list! If not, touch the "Create" button. From then on it will be there for you. Always.

4: SHOPPING

Since we are onto the "old fashion way" track, let us shop a product, just that way. While at the store, check the little box next to the product on your list. It has now entered your virtual shopping basket. (And hopefully the real one, too.) From the shopping list view, it appears to be checked, and even crossed out. That means you definitely bought it.

5: USE THE SCANNER

Now for the cherry of the SCAP pie: Scanning! Use the left scan button to scan products onto your shopping list.

Scan any product as you run out of it, and it goes onto your list.

6: ADD NEW PRODUCT WITH BARCODE

If you scan a product that is not recognised by SCAP, you are given the option of adding it. Please do, it is very easy. Select "YES". In the "Name" field that shows up, replace the div_barcode digits with a suitable product name. It is now in your system, and upon next scanning, it will appear on your list, just like that! The same procedure goes for shopping. We will come to that.

7: USE THE SCANNER

Now for the cherry of the SCAP pie: Scanning! Use the left scan button to scan products onto your shopping list.

If the product is not there, follow the same procedure as described earlier. You can easily buy a product that is not on your list already. It will then show up in your shopping basket, or on your list as a checked and crossed out product. When you scan a product into the shopping basket, the same thing will happen as when you just check it. But this is more fun.

The SCAP solution, step by step

Arriving at the store:
The customer starts the application on her mobile phone, and scans a barcode on the shopping trolley, at the entrance or on the nearest shelf. The solution then identifies which store the customer is at, and the according price database is retrieved.

During the shopping round:

The customer picks items from the shelf, and scans them. On the phone display, the items appear as they are scanned, with item names, price, and total basket price.

At the counter:

The customer scans a barcode on the counter. She chooses payment option, according to what is offered at the counter. (Cash, card, payment using the phone, and so on.)

She pays, and as soon as the payment is confirmed, she can leave the store.

Scan and Pay brings a new dimension to shopping. The mobile phone is your personal checkout counter, and standing in line to pay may be a thing of the past.

Scan and Pay AS (SCAP) has developed a system for the retail business, turning the customer's own mobile phone into a self scanning device. As a result, you and your customer save time, the store benefits from increased bag size, and the customer does not have to stand in line to pay for goods anymore. The system gives endless possibilities for communication with customers before, during and after the shopping session.
